If Louisiana were smart, they'd grant Texas the whole state, become East Texas, and let Texas fix the fricking crappy-assed schools, roads and bridges in Louisiana and inpregnate the women with the seed of a Texan. Only way that state is ever going to improve.

Austin had traffic that makes Baton Rouge feel like the Autobahn. .. I do like SA Houston and Austin a lot. .Big Bend is a really great camping spot.
Dallas has great places to eat aND a decent six flags.
.
I like Texas.

Don't forget to mention all the left lane cruisers. I swear they don't teach Texans the difference between lanes in driving school.

You learned all this by driving

Do you find it odd that more people are moving here than anywhere else in the US:

I-10 goes through Dallas?
I-20 doesnt even go through Dallas Proper. It actually drives through the shithole.
Everything north of I-30 is en Fuego.

I'm impressed you can circumnavigate the state in 2 days.

And yet in some areas of Texas it is customary to move to the right shoulder when someone comes up on you so you can let them by. Mostly two lanes roads though.

Having lived in the Baton Rouge area for nearly 25 years, the New Orleans area for a year, and now living in the Houston area for 3.5 years; I can say Texas is vastly superior to Louisiana in pretty much every category except the following.
Food culture. Unless you're eating Tex-Mex, steak, or BBQ the food culture here is chain based. Not a lot of good "mom'n pop" places to get a good meal. Haven't explored the ethnic centers of Houston yet for Chinese food etc but I have heard good things. Louisiana clearly wins in this regard.
Too many Aggies and UT folk. Understandably so but as an LSU alum I need more Purple and Gold in my life, despite the huge number of Tigers in the Houston area. Clear edge to South LA on this one.
Cowboy fans. Yuck. Enough said; WHO DAT!
So outside of food and sports, Texas is superior.

When I was in Iraq, one of our interpreters told us for a while, many people in Iraq thought Texas was a separate country between the US and Mexico, on account of how US soldiers would describe where they were from.
Not a lot of maps there I guess.
