Yep, according to the person who was filming, the Accord driver almost hit him before getting up to the truck. So the Accord driver 100% set himself up for this crash.

You could look at it that way. I see it as the truck driver disabling an idiot. Guy in the truck was going plenty fast enough and passing other vehicles at a decent rate, wasn't doing anything wrong/stupid/illegal. Car driver was driving wrecklessly without even having much of an idea of how to drive at all.

Everyone can't be the freeway ninja. It takes patience to ninja a 2 lane. A true ninja will never need to leave the driving lanes in any effort to pass.

I've noticed in the last few years that drivers getting passed almost always speed up on the passer. Fortunately, my car has a go button that most can't match so it's still easy for me to pass.

I’ve seen this exact scenario. I’ve almost been wrecked by that guy just minding my own business in the slow lane. Bottom line, slow traffic need to stay in the right lane, passing traffic needs to get in the right lane asap, and assholes who weave in and out and pass on the shoulder deserve what they get.

After seeing his actions, it appears he was trying to control access to the left hand lane. He was barely passing vehicles, until the Honda hit the shoulder. Then the truck driver couldnt get to the next gap between cars fast enough

Car guy didn’t want it bad enough.
He had it made plus the bonus of taking out the truck driver if he would have just manned up enough to bowl back into the left lane when he came back off the shoulder.

Meh. Ticketed for improper lane usage. It's stupid, but he /she doing stupid things on their own wouldn't cause the accident.
The driver of that car damn near earned a Darwin award. They took a situation caused by a stupid/inconsiderate driver and escalated it x 10.

New Jersey drivers are the worst. People up here do not give a single shite about other motorists.
ETA: The Accord driver is a pretty accurate representation of the a-hole drivers up here who think the road is theirs alone. Just get behind the truck and wait an extra fifteen seconds, a-hole. Nope, gotta endanger everyone else before you plant your car into a cliff. frick that guy.

Speaking of 12, how there is not a service road on each side of the interstate connecting 190 and 21 is criminal. That would keep A TON of local traffic off the interstate.
All of the connecting roads are there. They just need to add two small two lane bridges while expanding the interstate bridge.
Or more efficiently, expand the interstate bridge wide enough to allow two service lanes while they’re expanding it now.
