Driving 25 hrs with a 2.5 yr old and a 6 month old is a phenomenally bad idea. Bite the bullet and fly.

From Louisiana? Dude you fly and it’s not even a question. Nothing about driving across Texas is fun. Just suck it up with the kids and buy people around you on the plane a drink if they start to lose it

Those ages should be easy for flying. The 6 month old isn’t walking yet and will be easier to keep still/nap. The 2.5 year old should be old enough to have crayons, ipad, airplane tv, etc keep her busy.

It’s the 12-24 month period that’s a real pain in the arse. They are mobile and can’t understand why they can’t just wander around everywhere and activities and shows don’t hold their attention for hours at a time.

Yeah, I cant see how his wife wouldn’t love that idea. Not only is she flying solo with kids, she’s then stuck alone with them for another day

I hate this stupid trend. Kids are allowed to be in public. If they bother you that much bring some noise cancelling headphones.

I've seen much ruder adults on planes than kids and no one runs around apologizing for them.

Why is everyone so bothered by life? Kids exist, so do people, both can be annoying. Who gives a frick? HC, I hope your almost 2 yo kicks some "get off my lawn" guy in the shin.

Fly out of SHV- direct flight to Vegas and run about $125/ticket round trip. Flights on Mondays and Fridays.

Ordinarily, i will almost always choose driving over flying if given a choice.. I just prefer going at my own pace, having the cabin at the temperature i prefer as opposed to whatever an airline decides is appropriate .. and i hate delays, going through security and , yes, sitting near crying babies and sick people who are coughing up a lung, spreading whatever they have to me.. .... But in this case, i think i’d suck it up and fly, mainly because of how long the drive is, but also because as others have mentioned, that stretch of I10 through Texas is just about the most boring tedious drive in America.

your wife's grandmother should go to you. But I bet she won't. That's why I hate old people because most of them are just terrible selfish people who happened to live long enough.

Absolutely. Spot on. My wife and I have four kids. I work 60 hours a week, my wife works 40. My mother in law has all the money she'll ever need or want, doesn't work and sits on her front porch all day buying things on Amazon. Yet we get guilted into dragging the entire crew from Washington state to Louisiana every year. So fricking tired of this. And when I try address it, I come off like a douche for being insensitive.

But no, I'm not bitter.

Be considerate to everyone on that flight and drive.
If you choose to fly, don't be the a-hole that bought 3 seats for 4 people and a diaper bag.

Driving it sucks. Either way , thru Dallas or San Antonio, once you get out into Nowhere Texas, it becomes mind numbing. Miles and miles of nothing.

As someone who has driven from BR to Vegas a few times without kids at the times.

Don't do it. Drive sucks.
