You can see where Bonnie and Clyde were killed, that's nearby. You coming from Baton Rouge? Depending on which way you come up there's plenty of off the beaten path things to see.

It's a nice little hike. There is an orange vest at the gate for safety reasons. I brought my own. You may wanna bring something for protection like a hand gun or something because you are hiking in the woods.

It’s icy on top of Driskill right now. You picked a hell of a time to try to climb it. Temps are plunging into the single digits tonight with a steady 20 mph wind and frequent gusts much higher. Wind chill is below 0°.

He’s known as Lee Arthur locally. Good old baw. His sisters work at a local dollar store.

You can bring your ATV and ride on the Louisiana Trail between Goldonna and Sibley. Might be some big mudholes along the way.

It only has 229ft of prominence, so not likely worth a drive.

I heard Shreveport had some snow last night, did they get the lifts working after entergy fixed the power.

Might be time to dust off the skis.

It was probably some government drone in Baton Rouge who named it as a mountain.

No doubt!

I find myself in Minden, Ruston, and Vicksburg multiple times a year. I'll go check it out at some point. I'm just amazed I had never heard of it before last night.

Its actually quite pretty in the fall seeing the colors changing. Its an easy hike, but great exercise. Some nice photo opportunities , too. I would do in a heartbeat. If you get time, check out Tunica Hills just north east of St. Francisville. You can easily forget you are in Louisiana/Miss instead of Tennessee. Great hike!

Fun fact: Mount Driskill is only 70’ taller than the state capitol.

Depends on how far you’re driving. It’s about a 45 minute walk through the woods, round trip. It’s nice, but it can be muddy. Wear some orange. It’s better than Florida’s high point, so there’s that.

It’s a 35 minute walk. It checks a box. If you want to hike all day, drive on over to Claiborne St. Park for some nice strolls.

I’m from Ruston, have hiked it a couple times. Like others have said, nice during the fall but also this time of year. Also like others have said, wear orange, there are hunting clubs nearby. Bonnie and Clyde museum, Ruston or Arcadia is close by also. No idea what restaurants Arcadia has nowadays

Hearing about all these successful Driskill summits, many without supplemental Os, is making my mountaineering CV seem rather thin.

This mountain is being used by some people online to justify the new splash mountain retheme. Even though it's his away from NOLA.
