I suppose most writers are. It brings to mind Hemingway.

Exactly.

If I'm a dude with money, I'm thinking I am more attracted to the woman who is out having her own drink on her own dime vs. someone on Bumble who goes on free dinner dates with every male that invites her.

I like making my own money. I find it an aphrodisiac.

You'd be surprised. Most of the time we are attracted to the one with the better arse.

Damn, that sucks.

It happens when I'm with the wife as well. We can be anywhere and a random whackjob will approach us and say some wigged out shite to me. My wife used to be like "wtf was that about?" but now she's not surprised when some lost soul has to tell me a secret.

In my single days, I hooked up with more chicks going out alone, sitting at the bar, in a nice restaurant type setting. Even just a dive bar, but unless you’re a complete weirdo, the bar at a nice steakhouse is easy pickings.

go on

I like being in bars with friends and all, but being a single guy, I kind of like going to bars alone sometimes as well. I get a lot more women that way anyway.

I've done it many times and love to watch the transformation many people go through, especially on Friday afternoons after they have put in another week's work. They are heading home and stop off to take advantage of "Happy Hour" and wind down a bit.

It's even more pronounced if it's a group of 30 something year old guys who have white collar, suit and tie jobs in some office.

They usually come in pretty quiet, order their drinks and after a few rounds of "I got this round, you get the next" they start turning into college frat boys all over again.

It’s one of my favorite things to do when I’m traveling for work.

Sounds depressing, especially around a holiday.

If you see a loner at a chicken buffet, come over and say “hi!” But don’t stay long, I eat, then gtfo. I’m maybe there 15 minutes, tops

It honestly is. I probably go out more alone than with other people, when I have the time. I work too much to meet anyone and all my friends are pregnant, or have young children. I’ve meet all sorts of awesome people, some girl came and talked to me once and asked if I was really out alone, she was totally shocked and said your brave I always have to have someone around me, I admire you lmao.
I don’t do it much anymore, but going to eat at the bar, in your favorite restaurant, and grabbing a beer or two, alone, is even better. I have 2 older kids, so the alone time is great after 16 years lmao. I have no problem being the girls who’s typically by herself.

Not my cup of tea. The only reason I go out drinking alone is to see if I run into anyone I already know, meet new people and strike up new conversations.

If I want to drink alone I'll just do it at the house on my patio but whatever keeps you alive on the inside!

The best places to drink alone are semi-dive bars that are mostly devoted to the distribution of serious alcohol. No cosmos or fancy names. A juke box and a regular clientele who is also drinking alone.

I don’t even drink but if I did, alone at a bar would be the best way I can imagine.
