Came home to my 10 y/o GSD not acting like herself and staying away from us, currently sitting at the emergency vet waiting on the diagnosis. Hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. She acted fine yesterday and ate her food Themis morning but something isn’t right with her this afternoon.

Happened to mine not long ago.
Was lethargic and not himself.

Turns out it was a virus with a headache. He felt better the next day with some medicine.

Keep hope alive until you’re 100% it’s unpleasant news.

Hoping that is all it is but she didn’t have that fire in her eyes when I was sitting in the floor petting her

owning a dog is best and worst experience. Hoping you can take her home in good health.

I have been here with my childhood pets growing up, but this girl I raised from a pup and was my wife and I first Christmas present to each other when we got married so this one feels like it is going to sting a lot more when this decision is made tonight or in the future

I hope everything turns out OK.

I absolutely hate these threads and even worse are the "I just put down" threads. It brings back too many sad memories. Why can't dogs live 50 years?

Probably even better than that. All kinds of non deadly stuff could have a dog off it’s game for a minute.

Most likely nothing. Upset stomach, bad cold, spider bite maybe. Your dog will be fine.
