I think you’ll find a distinct lack of fathers there, especially ones with actual balls. (The fathers that are there probably grew up with single mothers) That’s the issue.

This is a bullshite statement, dressing in drag doesn't make one any more or less likely to be an addict and them reading to a child isn't going to make addiction jump on them like a boogeyman. addicts come in soccer moms, business execs, nurses, policemen and all manner of other innocuous versions of people that society considers normal and wouldn't think twice about letting them read to their kids.
yes, the performer should have been more self-aware of how they were sitting on a chair, but that doesn't make him a pedo, or anything else, and to assume so is just making the author ridiculous.

I don’t particularly care about story time having all types of people. I do think drag queen story time is odd, just as I would black guy story time, gay person story time, wheel chair story time or any other hyper specific story time.


libraries are trying so hard to find engagement and social media presence. It feels manufactured.

Otherwise- go ahead and find a dozen interesting and eclectic people to read stories. i don’t care if someone’s in drag. Just be engaging and thoughtful with the children. You put enough random folks up there you are bound to see uncrossed legs or catch a random curse word at some point and an adult should just put it back in check
