So much jealousy. The man is at the top of his profession and reaping the rewards. You people wouldn’t understand.

Fact. WAFBs top two are the best in the city by a large margin.

True. But it's like attorneys calling themselves doctors. I just don't like it.

Weather is one of those skills that you can learn the basics in the book, but you have to get out and observe it in the field to get a true reading on it.

Nash Roberts was the best not because he had a DR in front of his name. He worked in the Navy during World War 2 and gained a lot of experience by reading the clouds and weather patterns. He didn’t even have the radar technology we have today.

You can almost say forecasting weather is like a skill that is learned or acquired almost like the skills of an athlete or a singer. You either have the talent or you are just parroting what others say or do.

It's a tough world where you have to get your news and weather from guys more successful than you and women that you'll never bag.

He was the one calling for no snow last winter and calling out other area meteorologists for their hyperbole

Uh, that was Robert Gautreaux III. Who is no longer employed by WBRZ.

I like it when a hurricane is barreling down on our arse and Jay is on at midnight minus his jacket and wearing black jeans. That is when you know shite is getting real and Jay is rolling his sleeves up and doing work for us.

I grew up in a time where we accepted weather and did not think the weatherman controlled it or even had a good grasp about it more than 24 hours out. Now everyone is shocked and confused that snow happens in winter and heat happens in summer - that thunderstorms have wind and lightning and sometimes trees fall. They could not tell you the weather in the 70s and they still can't. What has changed is the 24 hour news cycles that whips everyone into a frenzy and makes people feel as if they are helpless or can do something about the weather. Go live your life, they have no idea what the weather is going to do - never have. I would suggest carrying an umbrella and getting inside if you see lightning and don't drive because most people can't accomplish this on a sunny day, so wait for the weather to pass or focus more if driving in bad weather. Follow these three things and weather is not a big problem, but if a tree falls on your house deal with it like an adult and move on.

Last week he barely mentioned the weather event on Saturday, dismissed it as a line of passing showers with storm here and there.

that's exactly what I got at my house. He was dead-on balls accurate for me regarding Saturday.
