Chief was pretty vague with the details so far. He said he knew Mr. Gurley personally and you could tell he was emotional.

Double homicide. The official conducting the press conference was visibly upset. Said he knew them personally, they knew their murderer(s), it wasn't random, and that this is the worst case he's ever been part of in his career. Not sure of any other details but it sounds bad.

Pool business has been closed for sometime now. Was also thinking it was a former employee though.

Didn’t know he was still doing pools. He did a lot of work for my parents.

I think the prime suspect is a guy they fired a few days ago. Mr Gurley kept some cash around I heard and looks like could be a murder/robbery.

This is the rumor going around. Supposedly fired someone a week ago.

Just saw this on the news. I knew the family somewhat from living near there a decade or so ago. Tragic loss. Any updates besides what WAFB/WBRZ are reporting?

WAFB

The couple was last seen around 4 p.m. on Monday, October 29.

A person of interest was identified Wednesday afternoon. The Denham Springs Police Department says they’ve issued an arrest warrant for Michael T. Collins, 45. Collins is believed to have been in possession of white 2016 Nissan Frontier pickup truck with Louisiana license plate Y193507. The truck belongs to Eugene Gurley, one of the victims.

It’s also believed Collins may be headed toward Macon County, Tennessee.

Officers were dispatched Tuesday evening for a welfare check at the couple’s business, National Pool Supply, on Pete’s Highway (LA 16).
Investigators and the Gurleys' son forced entry into the business and discovered the couple’s bodies.

Advocate article updated, with quotes form employees and neighbors sounds like it may be someone who he rented a trailer to. Hopefully they get this guy and beat the absolute shite out of him.

I had to chuckle because the Advocate referred to his combover as notorious among DSHS students. I didn’t have the guy or know him well but damn he didn’t deserve this.
