I had him at DSHS too. I neither liked or disliked him but thought he always had a funny sense of humor. Terrible news.

I agree. He was one of my 7th grade teachers and looking back I wish there were more like him in the world. This is tragic and senseless.

The Gurleys were beaten to death.

A blunt force trauma injury to the head was ruled as the cause of death for the couple that police found dead the earlier this week.

Suspect Michael Collins age 45

Collins is believed to have been in possession of a white 2016 Nissan frontier pickup truck bearing Louisiana License plate Y 193507, belonging to Eugene F. Gurley. It is also believed that Collins may be headed toward or in the area of Macon County, Tenn.

Suspect Michael Collins arrested for murdering Denham Springs schoolteacher and his wife

quote:

Collins is currently being held in a Kentucky jail as a fugitive from Louisiana. He will be extradited to Denham Springs, where he will be formally charged with two counts of first-degree murder, in the death of Eugene F. Hwy 16

It's known as Pete's Hwy from Florida Blvd to Vincent Road.

These two were great people and it's a complete tragedy to all who knew this family.

Where did you hear the hammer part? That’s unreal how someone could do that. If I was Gurleys son I would want some alone time with this dude and a hammer.

Taught at DSJH. Never had him but definitely a memorable guy. I hope the suspect in custody is given swift justice. Good people from a good community who gave back as educators and business owners.

Collins -- who is believed to be a native of northeast Tennessee -- had worked for the Gurleys. He lived on the property of the business until he was terminated, Womack said. The criminal record for Collins included an arrest for domestic abuse battery in 2016, the police chief said.

The Gurleys tried to help Collins, who they didn’t know is a shiftless, violent, worthless piece of shite. They gave him a job and a place to live. If they gave up on him, obviously Collins was causing problems for them. He probably snapped after they gave him the pink slip and eviction notice.

LINK

Cindy L Huntsman who is alleged sister of this POS is posting under comments saying he didn't do it

"Cindy L Huntsman: He has been accused of murder. It has not been proven. So you guys need to back off. Everyone jumps to conclusions. God knows the answer and I pray it comes out. Like i said you who are without sin throw the stones. I know you all sin and I know some of you all my life. It's not your places to judge anyone. He is my brother and I do love him so stop running your mouths until you find out the whole truth and quit making judgements. He is no killer"

Well this pretty much confirms he’s the killer.

I get sticking up for your family, but when you blindly do it and look retarded it just pisses me off.

Because his sister, in very rational language, asked people to chill until the facts are known? I don't see anything really retarded about her post...other than the "he's no killer." Salutation, which completely undermines her whole argument.

Come on dude. Couple is found dead, DNA has been linked to this guy, he goes on the run in the dead man's truck. What facts are needed here beyond those three things?
