Double drawer dishwasher?

Not talking about the wife wearing two pairs of skivvies, I mean a dish washer with two distinct washing units. Do the folks here who have one think they are worth the extra money?

I have to replace my dishwasher, and the 'wait until it's full' concept is lost on my wife. Thinking this could solve at least one of my WTF reoccurring scenarios.

Thoughts?

I have a regular and a double drawer. We hardly ever use the double drawer. Only time it is used is after a party, holiday etc. things just don’t fit as well.

Alliteration aside, I have no thoughts.

Not so subtle brag.

I have no experience with them OP, but seems like more hassle then it would be worth honestly. Seems like they don't fit large items well too.

We don't even wash our plates in our current dishwasher. The wife has a collection of antique, mismatched, plates that we wash by hand. Pretty much never fill up the current washer, but we end up running it for coffee cups and utensils...or because it stinks due to my son's milk cups...or because my wife just randomly turns it on. Thinking a half washer would be cool, although expensive.

We have a double like that and love it. We have a family of four so one seems to constantly be running. As your son gets a little older and breaks all of antique shite, you'll be using that dishwasher a lot more.

Geez, $2500? You realize you could run them half full for ever and you'd never recoup the $1700 difference over a standard $800-1000 dishwasher right?

We have had them for 10 years and have been happy. We split them up and have one on each side of the sink, so no bending over to load and unload, which is the biggest benefit imo.

I had one in a previous house. Stuff does not really fit well in them. Personally, I would not buy one if I had to replace current dishwasher.

We had one and it broke all the time. Top would work but not the bottom or other way around. Expensive to have serviced.

Bought a normal one and would not buy a drawer model again.

We got one free(was a special deal) with the purchase of a stove/oven when replacing appliances after the flood. Never had one before but we like it. Can do big or small amounts, it's very convenient to have some dishes washing and still a place to put the ones being dirtied.

The best is two standard units.
The dish drawers seem too leave spots unless you have a water softner.
I like the fisher paykels though.

Our water in BSL sucks, it stains everything. It's brown...but tastes fine.

We have a double drawer that was in the house when we bought it. As someone above said, larger items don't fit right in it.
It's about time to get a new one and we will be going to a regular dishwasher
