Don't miss it at all. I did have friends who worked in one of them and I'd hang in there sometimes. I guess I miss that part, but I don't miss having to go to a brick and mortar to rent.

Over the years we have gotten lazy because of technology. Hell now you can rent a movie from your couch as you stuff your face with chips and dip. That being said, don't you miss the old days where you went to the local video store and rented movies? Remember the days you stayed over a friend's house after you rented movies and the mom ordered pizza? Damn those were some good times. So be it Blockbuster or whatever named movie rental place, share your stories. What says you?
Blockbuster sucked arse. It was tons of fun going to rent a movie, only to see it had already been rented, and then you were wandering around trying to figure out what would scratch the itch. Then you had to return the fricking thing.
Nothing stopping you from going to a friend's house to eat pizza and stream a movie. Not sure what Blockbuster is bringing to that equation, other than annoyance

Hollywood Video was far superior to Blockbuster, but yeah that was the best time for home movie viewing. Effort was required so the payoff was much better. Now we just sort through the digital options for 30 minutes until we all hate each other from arguing and go do our own things.

My kids will never know the pain of anxiously heading to Blockbuster to rent a movie that they’ve been wanting to see, only for all copies to be rented out.

I remember walking to Video Biz in Mandeville when I was a kid. Once a month my mom would send me with a check to pay our tab.

Blockbuster is one way how i learned to market/sales.
I got to know the folks that worked there and would get them to call me when a new movie was in and they would hold it for me on the side and i would ride my bike up there and get it before anyone else would.

I miss everything being open. Went from 24 hour grocery stores to closing at 11. Weekend hours for malls were 10pm now 8pm. Walmart closes at 11 was 24/7. Blockbuster was open till midnight and now most drive thrus close early too.

Remember Major Video? New Orleans area?

Half the fun was wandering around the store looking at horror movies with my friends. There were no trailers. We had to judge the book completely by its cover. Just renting the movie and the anticipation before watching it was great

I remember the arguments about deciding what to rent.

Kids these days will never know the disappointment of the movie/game you wanted to rent being out of stock

I worked through LSU at Hollywood Video on Government. I loved it.

Don't read beauty magazines, they'll only make you feel ugly.

The experience was fun and cool. I keep thinking one day we will go back but we actually haven’t turned back haha.
Then the next day you have to VR drive back to the store to return it or they'll charge you late fees.

Friday and Saturday nights were typically dedicated to driving into town, eating at LeBlancs or Wards, then going to Video 1 and perusing the aisles for a couple movies we could all agree on. Usually just happen to run into some friends from school and hang a bit. No need for cell phones. Simple, yet great times.

I watched more terrible movies in their entirety back then.
Since we’d shell out to rent the movie, we seldom bailed on a piece of shite.
With streaming, I pull the plug quickly and find something better.
