I would have gone for the arse slap.

They might play coy and act like they don’t like it but the truth is, they love an arse slap.

Plus, it lets them know who the alpha males are

I don't think you know what that means. Ant man that is in a position of power or has money should adopt this policy.

No. He has a smart wife who understands the risks. And, maybe....just maybe he’s a good husband

He underwent training exactly as this person requested, and she quit before he finished because she felt a procedural decision was punishment.
quote:

Gupta reportedly told Goldsmith that she preferred to see Hunt undergo sexual harassment training rather than lose his job. “I told them just my own personal code of ethics, which is that if there is space for education instead of punitive measures, then I believe in education,” Gupta told the paper.
According to the Times, Hunt completed sexual harassment training on Oct. 1 and received a “closure letter” from CBS

quote:

“... But by that time, Gupta had already quit in protest — with Magee soon to follow, later in October — over concerns that they were being punished for raising the issue. Days after Gupta’s last HR meeting about Hunt, writers on Carol’s Second Act were told that they could not attend that day’s rehearsal, and would no longer be individually allowed to workshop jokes to showrunners. Andrew Brettler, the lawyer representing showrunners Haskins and Ms. Halpern, told the Times that the changes affecting writers had been devised prior to Gupta’s complaint, in an effort to tamp down on-set chaos, and that the timing of the announcement coming on the heels of her HR talks were “a coincidence.”
While CBS backed the showrunners, Gupta said the changes in procedure felt like an effort to separate her from Hunt and “gave me no option but to leave the show.”...”

quote:

Unfortunately, Sarah and Emily made choices that destroyed my sense of self and my feeling of value in the workplace. I still urge them to learn from this and do better. — broti gupta

So this is really against the female show runners’ decision to not allow this to workshop jokes with the show runners; and not against Hunt’s behavior or that it wasn’t addressed correctly as he did went to training as this writer requested even though not remembering events the same way as she did.

Yet title of article on Yahoo is: “Writers on Patricia Heaton's TV show say they quit over sexual harassment complaint against her husband“

Hunt and Heaton are well-known Hollywood conservatives. You think Yahoo would be honest in its headline?

This disrespect is what got the other involved to file a complaint.

quote:

Weeks later, Gupta said she was sitting in a chair on set next to writer and co-executive producer Margee Magee, who left the sitcom in October. The women claim that Hunt, who appeared to be looking for something, took Gupta by the shoulders and “jerked” her forward, prompting Magee to say, “Excuse me.” Hunt, they told the Times, did not respond... After the second alleged incident, Gupta confided in Magee about her experience. Magee encouraged her to air her concerns to Carol’s Second Act showrunners Sarah Haskins and Emily Halpern,

Which are the 2 she is now complaining about not husband even though article would make you think it was about husband.

It really seems like leg thing is thrown in to enhance mentioning of the paints and the 2 side hugs after later being “disrespected” with hands on shoulders to be gotten out of his way looking for script in front of the other female writer.

I also wonder if this is a case of the 2 female show runners pushing out 2 problem writers who then happened to push a week claim against husband. When that was followed as writer asked it to be done with him going to training, but with these 2 still getting pushed out by the female show runners they quit on their own to push a narrative that would get plenty of press with actor’s husband.

As a male why do you feel the need to touch a female at all? Why a hug and not just a handshake? If it’s not your wife/significant other/close friend she doesn’t want to hugged/touched/groped by you at all. Men should learn boundaries.

As a female it’s uncomfortable when men cross that boundary. It’s not just her complaining to complain.

A handshake is touching and that is bad, bad, bad.

And far more importantly do not hire one nor deal with them at work at all.

That is where this is going and they will whine about that as well.

Obviously some women including some teachers posted here need to learn boundaries as well. Some lesbians do as well. The ones still in closet may be touching without the females knowing they have sexual thoughts towards females.

Could a handshake touching linger a little and be uncomfortable? Maybe no touching at all by anyone. Must be held up equally not just for women and men but to same sex in case we don’t know their identified gender or sexual preference yet.

I have had more touchy feely female co-workers or employees wanting to hug their co-workers or have non-sexual physical contact with them (with the females & male coworkers) more than male ones. They would never make it with zero tolerance for hugs and touching regardless of if any sexual and/or harassment intent behind actions.

Also The hugs took place “... following a dinner for cast and crew at a pizza restaurant in Los Angeles, Hunt allegedly hugged Gupta from the side twice.” What if he did the same greeting male members of cast and crew including for taking pictures of each other. Also if a lot of this was going on. It’s that kind of atmosphere that both sexes are more likely to hug and make contact with others and act differently than at the office. Obviously groping is wrong in any venue, but clearly not all hugging and touching is groping or sexual. And just as clearly it’s not just a man thing or a heterosexual thing.

You must be a side hugger to get this worked up.

Dude what are you complaining about here? You don't grab coworkers by their sides and you especially do not run your hand up their thigh. While it's not rape...it's not appropriate for work by any means

As far as the handshake, yes it’s touching and they can become uncomfortable if they linger. But it’s not as intimate as a hug is. An unwanted handshake is also easier to break than a hug. I’ve never come away from a handshake and felt violated. I have with a hug. Men will press their entire body against a woman as they hug.....their groin typically pushes against my stomach. That’s unwanted.

It should go both ways. I have no interest in a female coworker hugging me either. I don’t want any persons body pressed against mine....if I’m not already close to them.

There have been surveys and studies showing this is having an impact on peoples decision to hire women and especially attractive women for roles that require a lot of interaction, especially traveling, with male coworkers.
