If one seemed overly interested in what I did for work, even that was a red flag for me. They have alterior motives for asking that question.

shite, my wife has a credit card, but I harass the shite out of her when she uses it on dumb shite.
ETA: And I didn’t tell her what I made until there was no doubt I was going to marry her. She had an idea, but I didn’t outline my salary package until we were about to get engaged and were buying a house.
She still struggles to understand how a budget works, and probably will until the day she dies.

No fricking shite. When I started making good money I would text my wife every time I closed a big deal and let her know how much money it made me.
After a month of that, I checked the credit card account and noticed she started making small purchases here and there and it added up to quite a bit of debt.
Paid it off and talked to her about it. She's better but not where I want her to be. I still live the way we did when I barely made shite and I wish she would too.
