Donald Gibb, who starred as the brutish football player Ogre in the 1984 campus comedy classic Revenge of the Nerds, has died. The actor’s son, Travis, told TMZ that his father died Tuesday after suffering from health complications in Texas. He was 71.

Born Donald Richard Gibb on Aug. 4, 1954, in New York City, Gibb’s first screen role came in an uncredited role as a henchman in the Clint Eastwood action comedy Any Which Way You Can. The bit role was followed by a pair of uncredited turns in two more high-profile films, as a bouncer in the mud-wrestling bar in Bill Murray’s 1981 comedy Stripes; and King Osric’s (Max von Sydow) in the 1982 Arnold Schwarzenegger fantasy adventure Conan the Barbarian.

What if C-A-T really spelled “dog?”

His best work was in Bloodsport with JCVD.

One of my favorite shows that no one has ever heard of was called 1st and 10. Gibb was hilarious in that show as the team linebacker.

Traders regular called the hotline.

Dr Death and Mad Dog were a hell of a duo. I use to have to be sneaky to watch it when in the 80’s.
I actually stumbled across the DVD box set about 15 years ago in a discount bin at Best Buy. The show didn’t hold up well but it was worth a watch for nostalgia alone.

They damn sure where. And on the offensive side you had Jethro and Bubba.

Dude was 30 years old when he played a college guy in the first movie, not sequel.

First Skolnick and now Ogre. Who's next? Wormser? Forgot that Poindexter was a child molester.
