A gentle leader is not the proper type of leash for a Great Dane. That dog could pull that woman wherever it wanted to.

Well obviously. However, it’s the owner who is usually 100% liable for the acts of his/her dog.

If an injury happens on a business property, said business is liable in 99/100 cases. Said business allowed this hazardous condition to exist on the property. Simple as that.
Most probably, they will not allow dogs on the property going forward.

I don’t see how Home Depot did anything wrong here. You can disagree with their pet policy, but it’s not like that policy violated any law or ordinance. It would also be an absurd position to suggest that Home Depot is responsible for the acts of their customers.

Not to let the dog and owner off the hook but how did this person get their face close enough to a strange dog's face to be bitten? Seems like a lapse in judgment.
Are you blind and illiterate?

It’s a horse sized dog and apparently the owner told the customer to give the dog a treat

There’s no reason for humans to be anywhere, either.

I hate this argument about animals with no purpose. What are we doing? What’s our purpose?

I’m not hardcore about animals in stores on way or another, but the no reason argument is a weak one. There’s “no reason” for anything.

I do agree that a dog biting and shitting shouldn’t be out around people.

Shopping at Home Depot in this case. Trying to eat a meal in others. You know, human shite.

Why is a healthy woman bringing that bull into a home improvement store? Outside of the people that actually need service animals, why do normal people need a dog to go into a store?

They don't.

Our purpose is to be useful.

The purpose of any domesticated animal is to serve humans.

Looks like a Great Dane mix. Pretty large dog. Great Danes are usually pretty mild mannered. Must be mixed with a pit.

Has it been reported why she asked the women who was later bitten to give the dog a treat?

Was the dog already getting aggressive towards lady and owner thought this would be better than taking dog outside?
Or did the lady ask to pet dog but then was asked by owner to give the dog a treat first which would still seem to imply owner knew dog could get aggressive to others and not ready for that kind of socialization?
Or done for some other reason?

The sad thing is because of the actions of two slap dicks, (the woman not controlling her dog and the one that puts her face close enough for a dog to bite it), responsible dog owners who enjoy bringing pets to home depot will likely get the short end of the stick.

I’m sure the dog policy will be gone

Unless they are service dogs there is no reason for it to be in a store anyway.
