One of the coldest I've ever been is in New Mexico. I was at White Sands and it was only mid 20s; however, the wind kicked into gear and there is nothing stopping it.

The coldest I have ever been was snowmobiling in New Hampshire. I found out why they called it "tinkling". The urine would actually slightly crystallize before it hit the bottom of the out house and you could hear "crinkle crinkle crinkle" like some glass breaking.

Likewise, I have been to Antarctica, yet the most miserable wet cold I have ever experienced was riding in a Mardi Gras parade in BR.

Got a marine buddy from Wisconsin that lives down here and he swears that it feels colder here than back home.

have a friend from buffalo, ny who swears 50 degrees here is frigid compared to up there.

I spent 26 years in Louisiana and am now approaching my 4th winter in New England.

I can tell you without a doubt that the temperature is not telling at all when comparing the coldness of the two. If it's 40 degrees and sunny in Boston, jeans and a north face are all you need to be comfortable. 40 degrees and sunny in Louisiana I'm staying inside at all costs.

Currently it's 35 here and all I wore to work was a button down shirt with a vest...didn't even think about it. 35 in Louisiana is goddamn miserable no matter what you're wearing.

The only problem with the humidity argument when saying it feels colder in the south is that normally when it gets cold like this the air is dry and the humidity low. Like right now the humidity in Baton Rouge is 27%. I have heard plenty of cold weather folk say the same temperature feels colder down here though, so

The near constant wet breeze during winter on the gulf coast doesn't help. It does make it feel colder than it actually is.

Baws here are freezing their truck nuts off when it gets below 50.

I've had two people from North Dakota tell me that Louisiana cold is worse than ND cold.
