Yeah kinda. Being able to switch on and off sleep is a good skill to have.

I can relate to OP. I used to watch the Hornets/Pels then stay up and talk on the internet about the game for two hours when I was in high school.

Now, it's not even halftime and I'm thinking about how late it's getting and that I'm tired.

Yes. I've never been a nap taker. Not that I have a 3 and a 1 year old, I find myself falling asleep in the recliner frequently

Yes but it gets better as they get older. The second kid didn't affect me as bad as how the first one made me exhausted. I think it's just how your responsibilities are doubled after work compared to when its just you and the old lady.

I think it's age related. It's how we recover from the extra strain that old-man strength puts on the body. If you don't take enough naps, your body will collapse under the weight of all that might... that's how people die of old age.

I wish. Not everyone.

I am an insomniac / Clinical Depression / Gen Anxiety Disorder. frick my genetics. A good night is 4-5 hours of unbroken sleep. Most nights I am in bed for 8-9 hours to get 4-5 hours of actual sleep.

I sleep better when I smoke pot, which is most nights these days since I took myself off Xanax.

I'm asleep on the couch immediately following the Thanksgiving meal. It's a tradition.

It's because you have PTSD from the days when he would wake up every 2-3 hours, or worse. Your mind subconsciously wants to stock up on as much sleep as possible.

I have a two year old son.

Some nights I will sit in his room until he falls asleep. Lately, I fall asleep first and he gets to and starts playing with his toys.

We are talking around 8PM

This actually might be legit. My wife was in the hospital for 2 months after our son was born, every night it was just me, the baby, and the dog. Probably averaged 3 hours of sleep split up between a series of short naps
