I would love to.

Journalism is one of the pillars of a strong Republic. Unfortunately, journalism went extinct some time ago. I'm not paying for a propaganda newsletter from the Democratic Party.

I still got the WSJ until earlier this year. Oddly I almost never check out their app site though. I may need to cancel that. (They are just printing days old stuff already on the net)

Customer service with print newspapers competes in a race to the bottom with that of cable/cell phne companies. Overcharges, undercharges, no compliance with instructions on supplements, no compliance with vacation holds or response to missing issues. Might as well not even talk with them. Just cancelled my subscription and likely won't go back.

Not by choice. The Advocate drops one off at my house once every month.

I delivered papers when I was young in the 80s. 90% or more of the houses in my route received a newspaper from me.
Many got the 2 papers a day, morning and afternoon.
This was a middle class neighborhood in Virginia.

My mom still gets the Advocate. And I use her account to read the digital edition.
I'm about to roll up with my kids to her house for breakfast.

After I gorge my fat arse I'm going to break out the sports section and open it up on the kitchen table. There's a pleasant nostalgia in that as well as good information.

I used to love the old newspaper sports section that listed all the high school football stats and rankings

Josh Booty
Peyton Manning
Etc…

It was awesome to keep track of the stats and the competition between all the top athletes in the state

If you’re in a New Orleans area, why in the hell would you ever want to read the garbage that is printed in the New Orleans Advocate/Times Picyournose. You can just go to the DNC website and get the same censored and racist bullsh!t.

My parents tried 4 times to have the Advocate delivered on sundays. Over a six month period they received 4 papers. That’s it. Called and they swore they would fix it. Never did.

Dad sits on the porch and reads his iPad now. With such a dying media model, you’d think they would at least get the delivery right.

Used to love getting the paper. Haven’t in many years though. The Sun Herald is my local paper yet most of the articles are nationally written by McClatchy whose views don’t jive down here. And they had the audacity to advertise the tag line “Read Local.” Lol. They couldn’t even print high school scores within 48hrs of the game!

I also try not to give my money to a group of people that hate me.

I live in Avoyelles. My mom has been throwing the Avoyelles Journal for 42 years and she's 75. Use to be twice a week but since Wuhan Bat flu, it's just on Wednesday's now. I can say I've seen more newspapers than anyone on this board, most likely. But, I still take pleasure in walking down my driveway on Wednesday morning to get my paper.

I don’t get the newspaper at my house, but my parents do. I have noticed that everyone who walks in their house immediately picks up the newspaper and starts reading it. I have to admit it is comforting to have a cup of coffee while reading the Sunday paper. It is a lot more pleasant than reading the news on a computer.

We get the county's weekly paper delivered. It isn't great but it needs some support.

I read a couple of e-papers daily because they are really cheap (desparate to keep their readership up ) and it's interesting to see how warped some of them are in reporting.
