You would have to break that down a bit more. Equality as you described it will never exist. Equality, as in equal opportunity does exist. The problem is people keep trying to expand on that.

Not necessarily true. Many activists (whatever you'd like to call them) are appropriating the term much in the same way that queer and gay are now acceptable and used by LGBTQRSTUVLMNOP groups.
