You think if unions went away and the workers were paid less that the auto companies would come down on price? Hell no they wouldn’t.

Miller Lite displays “union made” on their cans.

So I quit drinking it.
If you truly are trying to make the best possible choices, drinking Miller Lite would have been nixed much earlier in your decision-making tree for reasons having nothing to do with the fact it’s Union made.

Ftr, I think collective labor bargaining in the US is run by shitheads and has terribly exacerbated the problems they blame exclusively on greedy capitalists.

So by that logic, federal and municipal office employees need unions too? Ostensibly so they aren't subjected to undue pressure?

First responders and government employees are civil servants subject to protections well defined for such employees.

Give me a break.

I've been following this UAW/GM shite and it makes my blood boil. There was a time in America when these unions were needed, but I'm not sure anymore. (Exceptions being Police, Firefighters, etc.) Just curious if anyone has gone to the extreme of buying non union items.

But you and most of your fellow Poli board loser types are the dumbest people in America, so what does it matter what you're little pea brain is pondering.

I'll buy something union made over non union every single time if I can.

That's none of govt's business. Unions are protection for the shitty workers.

No! Without unions companies would dog the shite out of workers!
Here's someone who has swallowed union propaganda. Most companies are not unionized. Are you telling me that those hundreds of millions are being dogged?

I really don't get some of the union hate on here

I'm not well versed in the history of unions or anything like that. All I have to go by are my personal experiences. I work a good bit with salt mine union workers and I can tell you without question they are the biggest bunch of cry baby losers I've ever met. It's hard for us to complete any job down there because of all the breaks they take. Let's say break starts at 10AM, they have leave what they're doing 20 minutes early to drive to the break room and get cleaned up before 10. So basically that's an hour down time every time they take a break. They will also intentionally break shite on the machines they are running just so they don't have to work that day. They just sit there and wait for a mechanic because the union says they don't have to attempt to fix anything.

Another time we were installing a fire alarm in west Jefferson medical center where the electrical contractor was union but our fire alarm company was not. They would steal keys from our manlifts and all kinds of other shenanigans when we were not there.

I have never seen grown men, other than union employees, act like this.

It's part of the old Chamber of Commerce / country club Republican ethos, which is rapidly dying.

Those moral midgets have cried wolf in the face of every regulation since the end of the Atlantic slave trade. According to them, we should all be paying $200 for a hot dog now, because of the ADA.

Ok so because we take breaks you don't like the union? We make our working conditions and the union backs us. I admit there are some sorry union workers but there's also some sorry non union workers. If you could make good money, have retirement benefits out of this world, some of the best insurance there is, and a brotherhood that takes care of each other wouldn't you want that?

ETA I am on break

Sounds like in your collective bargaining agreement you have not properly incentivized your union workforce by cutting them in on a share of the profits???
