Really depends what you are looking for in a home. They are going to offer packages from basic to luxury and the price reflects it. I had got a quote from them when I built 8 years ago and the original quote was great until I started adding upgrades. By the time I had what I wanted they were more expensive than the custom builders I had got quotes from.

Maybe they’re building houses for cretins, and they know that customer base won’t know the meaning of the word.

It is their last name and they’ve been around for 40 or so years at least.

Other than that, he's a good builder.

Cretin Townsend just completed me and my wife's home. We are still moving in. The build was relatively pain free. Our construction manager would text us every Friday informing us of the weekly progress and plans for the next week. The biggest issue we had was the time it took to build the house, but a lot of those issues were caused by ascension parish permitting office and weather. Our home took about 11 months to build. All in all I would recommend building with Cretin.

You mean Oriented Strand Board (OSB). Homes are not built with particle board.

We are in our Cretin Home about 18 months.

No complaints on the planning or building process. We went in with our own ideas and they made it happen. The combined plans, moved rooms and added things.

The building process was smooth and painless. They finished ahead of schedule for us.

If they don't have what you want fixture wise, trim wise, etc. You can get it yourself and they will install. Like we were set on a few fixtures, they didn't have them so we bought them and they installed them.

My only gripes are with the warranty side, it took forever to have them finally come out for fit and finish, and the contractor they sent was messy. I have paint splattered all over where they did the work.

Overall, we would definitely build with them again, God forbid we need too.

They were able to build basically our full custom home that local builders were charging 250k more for, with the same finishes
