Does Anyone Disagree With How The Federal Gov Handled The David Koresh Situation?

I saw a commercial for a show about David Koresh that will air in a few weeks. At the time, I was in my early teens and at the time, I just knew some crazy frick thought he was Jesus or something and law enforcement was trying to stop his shenanigans.
After reading more about it when I was older, I realized that there were people who didn't agree with the way the government handled the situation (of course Timothy McVeigh was one), but does anyone have a, not so black and white opinion, on the way the federal government handled this... without being a timothy mcveigh?)

I think the fact that kids were involved made the federal government respond the way they did... Then I guess they underestimated the amount of weapons they had and his willingness to use them.

I shouldn't indulge your attention whoring, O-Dog. I will say that back at the time, a buddy of mine said those people were unnecessarily slaughtered. I laughed and said they basically got what was coming to them hanging with that pedo POS.
Since then, I have learned how evil .gov is, how they had a million chances to arrest Koresh off the compound, and that even the raid itself could have been done more delicately in a bunch of ways.

There was no firefight when it went up in flames the feds went all out with the jack-booted thuggery.
Had they really wanted to arrest Koresh the feds could have done so when Jesus Jr. went out for his daily jogs. Greatest botch in American "land of freedom" history during a time when there were several of these incidents.

Koresh could have been picked up a number of times away from the compound. The Feds totally fricked it up.

I dont remember all the details but I thought the people on the inside started the fire right? Bad situation for all involved except for Koresh. I saw a documentary on him a while back and he was a major POS.

Not saying the feds were in the right but several agents were shot in a previous engagement before the fire. 4 atf agents were killed.

Yeah, I think the longer the standoff went on, the more pressure the federal government was feeling.. which led to them handling the situation they way they did.
DK was a crazy frick, but their focus should have been strictly on him. With that said, I know it is easy to Monday morning quarterback so I don't know how I feel about it. I think it was just an extremely fortunate situation that the government had no plan for, which led to a tragic end.

I thought there was a gun fight between people in the compound and the federal government? If not, then they at least found a bunch of weapons in there right? Maybe they were pointing that out just to save face on how they handled it.. like "look at all the weapons this guy had, we had to handle it the way we did".

Because there are people who see it as DK being a cult leader who needed to be stopped and the federal government was "forced" to take extreme action.
