The only issue would be shelf life,

I thought those things have a pretty long shelf life? Of course it all depends on the temperature, the warmer the temp, the less shelf life they have.

I just googled.. The shelf life is about 5 years stored at 75 degrees.

My kids eat 2 a day

His kids haven't shite since 2015.

I usually keep about 2 cases (24 meals) just because hurricanes.

When they start going bad, I plan on making a pillow fort, eating the MREs and pretending I'm camping.

I have eaten a couple when I have tent camped. Not bad for what they are. I think I still have a couple in my pantry.

I acquired 10 boxes of them a few years ago. Haven't eaten a single one and probably won't. I keep them for emergencies but I'm just going to end up throwing them out.

Pretty damn expensive to stockpile

Yea I thought about buying some in bulk because I'm single and don't like to cook much and figured they'd be cheap and easy for quick lunches. After seeing the cost I concluded I just eat out for the same price or suck it up and cook meals for cheaper

A lot of OTR truckers c army a couple MREs in their truck, especially in the winter. They can easily get stranded in BFE for a few days because of icy roads. I-80 across Wyoming is well known for shutting down in the winter.

They went to shite (not literally) when they stopped adding the baby bottles of Tabasco in them.

I hate the shelf-stable bread. I'd rather they just went back to putting crackers into all of them.

Unless your attic is conditioned, that would be horrible conditions to store them. I wouldn't eat them if I were you.

Actually I had forgotten about them until this thread. Guess I’ll just give them as Christmas presents this year to get rid of them.

They were designed for combat, id rather have a brick to crap than loose stool in combat anyway.

A couple years for Mardi Gras we'd start the long weekend by eating the cheese and/or peanut butter because of the slowdown effect on bathroom issues.
Worked out well, errr, effectively.

I work for a company that build the machine used for giving them shelf life and we have customers that make them. So somebody buys them.
