I agree…I remember the bicentennial of the US and it was quite a big deal.
I suppose the reason we are not hearing more about it is that there is not much patriotism currently. The current political climate, I suppose.

Might be time for TV stations to dust off some their ‘76 spots. Just don’t watch if you just popped some acid or sensitive to flashing lights.

Jimmy Carter wasn’t much of a president….but the whole country trusted him because he wasn’t a piece of shite, like most presidents are.

I was just in Philly and DC last week. There’s plenty going on.

If a Democrat was president we'd be hearing about plans every day. But the MSM doesn't want to report on anything that might make Trump look good.

Des Moines, Iowa.
The State Fairgrounds are hosting the America 250 celebration all summer.
Come up to the Midwest where we still love America.

Okay guys, one more thing, this summer when you're being inundated with all this American bicentennial Fourth of July brouhaha, don't forget what you're celebrating, and that's the fact that a bunch of slave-owning, aristocratic, white males didn't want to pay their taxes

Carter wasn't president in '76

We don't have shared culture any longer. In 1976, Bicentennial fever was everywhere. Network TV led the way. Localites had a lot of patriotic stuff going on. Frankly it was a respite from all the negative vibes from the Vietnam experience that were just beginning to wane.
This year is 25 years since 9/11. 9/11 was 25 years after the Bicentennial.
For you older cats, #letthatsinkin

Not very well thought out “opinion” you have.

The 50 million randos that that entered the country the last couple of decades don't give a shite about America the country. They are here as economic tourists. Their and their kids loyalty is to whatever shite hole they came from.
And the left has been actively demonizing America from generations.
At best half the country is what you may consider patriotic

Fun fact the bicentennial year was an election year and Ford was president. Ole Jimmy was elected that year, but didn’t take office till Jan of 1977.

How much are tickets to the UFC fight on the White House lawn? That would be epic, unlikely to ever happen again, they broke the mold with Trump

It’s political. There is a visceral hatred of Trump and to have a major, successful celebration of the 250th anniversary of our country would be a major uplifting moment for Trump, his administration, and the country. This would obviously benefit republicans months before the midterms. Demorat Party and the media will never let that happen, hence no coverage.

We were in DC a couple weeks ago and there's TONS of construction and repairs being done all around DC. We talked to several people that said Trump is pushing to have DC in tip top shape for July 4 and is spending a lot of money to get it done.
