BS. I was visiting in Tx (got here 10 days before their La ban) and started feeling feverish, but I was run down and thought it could be anything. I went to a walk in clinic. They ran multiple blood test ON SITE. Did chest Xray and a EKG. Did a swab of my nasal area (yuk!) and my mouth.
Call me at 5 pm today (after 3 days) and told me that the results were negative. So I drove over and got a copy of the quest lab results.
I live and La and I know about the problem of the travel ban but they really had their act together. I was impressed.

So you went to an urgent care and saw a nurse practitioner who ordered every test available except for the one you wanted, for corona.

See, I just don't get this.
It's out there. Testing and Warrenton will help flatten the curve a bit, but getting a handle on this means a good treatment, a vaccine, enough people getting it so rate of infection isn't so high, or hopefully summer heat slowing it down.

There is a backlog on testing. Up to a two week delay because of panic testing on every damn person with seasonal allergies, that are healthy, young and afebrile with a history of seasonal mf'ing allergies. And this quarantine shite isn't working because too many dumbasses are going to testing facilities in droves and them roaming around Walmart. Since this has all began, we had seen a spike in flu cases. So, we need to end this or enforce it.

I agree with everything you've said. I work in healthcare in the "testing" arena. I've said from the beginning of all this that people don't need results from tests for this virus. It will not affect treatment and if you feel bad, self isolate. Just assume you have it.
People don't understand the work and time involved in bringing a DNA test for a new virus on to a high output platform.
