Probably over half the doctors are overweight and drink a lot themselves.
In the hospital daily, more like 85%. They love fat arse meals and unlimited booze.

Aside from the other health stuff. By not drinking you will cut calories. 1 shot of whiskey which is not much is 100 calories. Think about that 500 calories is nothing to consume

I was a daily drinker for 20+ years.
At least a 12pack a day as beer was my choice and it didnt matter what kind.
Doctor told me 17mths ago to stop.
I did.
Never felt better.
The best is yet to come. I promise.

No one advised me to stop drinking. I just decided to in order to improve my health. I dropped 40 pounds without trying. It has been very motivating and I have not looked back. I have no desire to consume alcohol. Good luck

Happened to me in my 30s. I was crushing a case of beer weekly and had gotten fat. Now I only crush about a case every month, and I’m less fat.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Im sure you can still have a few drinks if you scale back even more
I have never been an everyday drinker and i don’t know how people do it. I love getting home Friday evening and pouring my first drink of the week.
If it’s a Sunday or a holiday (like this coming monday) I’ll have a drink or two but Friday night and Saturday are the only days i really cut loose.

It's potentially related to a heart issue.
I figured out I had afib at 45 and the doctor put me on blood thinner and told me to quit drinking. I'm not fat and I did some research and there's different triggers for different people. Mine is caffeine - drink mostly decaf now. I quit alcohol for about 3-4 months. I was off blood thinners in a few months as I had no further problems. Then I tried alcohol and no issues. I did have an ablation in year 3 I think. All that was 12-15 years ago. Since then I've had 1-2 drinks 3-4 nights a week and have never had a recurrence. Do your research.

I stopped drinking a year ago. The hardest part was wanting a cold beer while fishing, pool, beach, gameday, etc.
I found a flavorded sparkling water that litterally feels like I am drinking a cold beer when I am in those situatons and I couldn;t be happier and feel 10 times better and I actually have a lot more fun being sober while watching people getting drunk

Elderly neighbor used to drink heavily despite heart problems. He liked gin and tonic so he just drank the tonic water with a shot of lime juice. There is diet tonic water if weight is an issue.

Not about something as trivial as alcohol, especially when it comes to my health. Time to grow up

Fortunately today is almost over, so tomorrow you’re back in the saddle. Just kidding, good luck with getting healthier.

When logic comes second to trying to sound awesome.
Is alcohol some niche substance that is consumed mostly by children?
