It is an understudied issue. We have so many different sources of EM radiation saturating the atmosphere we don't really know what the repercussions are.
It may be harmless but we don't know that. No real studies have been done considering modern saturation levels.

Like most things, his statement is likely true but incomplete.
EM radiation (in unknown but significant quantities) is undoubtedly bad for you. But the quantities encountered in normal daily life are most likely inconsequential.
And the EM is WREAKING havoc, not reeking which is to stink.
