Do you wear sunscreen as part of your normal daily routine?

Growing up, sunscreen was reserved for the beach. Now it seems to have become accepted as a mandatory part of people's daily regimen--even for people who work inside all day (including WFH) or just traveling to and from indoor activities and errands. I'm even seeing people getting deep in the weeds regarding UV-resistant clothing.

Is this an example of evolving with the scientific literature or people simply being overzealous?

No. I only wear it if I’m going to be in the sun for a prolonged period. Golfing, beach, lake, tailgating, football games, etc.

My wife does have SPF 15 in her daily face moisturizer.

I use a moisturizer with mineral SPF if I'm going to be in the sun at some point in the day.

My face moisturizer has SPF in it. I usually put on some Neutrogena sunscreen if I'm going to be in the sun for longer amounts of time and am usually wearing a hat as well.

That said, my Mom had skin cancer at a young age and I've always been pretty mindful of the sun. Probably the biggest thing is I never did tanning beds like a lot of my peers did and a few them have had skin cancer as a result.

Only fishing or at the beach.

It’s becoming a more normal for every activity outside though. I never thought about sunscreen throughout my childhood playing baseball. Now you’ll see teams lining up to lather up.

On days I work I don’t see the sun for about 23 hours. So no that would be silly

people's daily regimen

Sounds gay to have a “daily regimen”. I’d rather have skin cancer

Many people are duped into thinking rubbing chemicals into your skin is better for you than the sun that has existed for all of humanity.

Did you know the most natural source of Vitamin D is from UV absorption from your skin which produces the vitamin D we need to stay healthy and have a strong immune system.

Pretty brilliant actually. Convince people to rub cancer causing chemicals into your skin, block UV absorption so your immune system weakens, have somebody who will be dependent on the medical industry for life.

Is this you or the melanoma talking?

I don’t know what to think. I take a shower in the morning and I apply some Oars and Alps SPF daily 30. Then a friend tells me sunscreen is bad, but my dad had skin cancer. Guess I could google “is sunscreen bad?”, but I’m sure every answer is woke.

This is 100% true for most days when you are just getting low levels of sun exposure. Putting on sun screen every single day no matter what is completely insane

But if you are spending all day out in the sun good luck with that

Skin cancer became prevalent after the push to use these poisons. I don’t spread any chemicals on my skin.
