"Alot" annoys me because I see it a lot and I was marked off a minus three points on an in-class essay in my British Lit class for spelling it "alot". I suffered consequences for misspelling it and no one else does.
If I were dictator I would start a war with the Queen (well, I guess the King now) over her English.
I know the correct usage is "a lot", but I don't like it. I don't like it one bit.
The only thing that irks me more are those bastards who tried to kill off the Oxford comma like no one would fricking notice. We noticed, we care, and we are pissed.

I much prefer spelling the color grey properly over "gray," though...

I say irregardless for all intensive purposes.

It’s unbelievable how many grown arse men on here don’t know the difference between “dominate” and “dominant”.

Just to annoy people at work when I think "their" not paying attention.
Besides, I think it's intended to be the opposite of regardless.

no because it isnt really a word

It’s definitely a word. Sure, it’s not the standard way of conveying the relevant sentiment, but it’s a legitimate word nevertheless. Or is it nonetheless? Only God really knows for sure.

it's just regardless. putting an "ir" in there just makes you look dumb

Yes, to annoy people like you.
I find it ironical that you care.
