A missing Alabama woman’s body was found burning at the end of a wooded, dead-end road after she reportedly vanished while making a Facebook Marketplace purchase.
The woman, identified as Jermiera Ivory Fowler, 31, had not been seen since Wednesday, the Birmingham Police Department said in a release.

Birmingham Fire Rescue personnel put out the flames, and officers noticed “visible signs of trauma” on the victim, according to the release.
After she was pronounced dead, officials discovered she had been shot before being set on fire.

I seen this picture and it went through my mind, that’s that lady out here that’s burning,” Brown said. “This shouldn’t have happened to her like that.”
Brown, who has lived on Tucker Avenue for 15 years, said he believes whoever did this knew what they were doing.
“That’s a dead end and you’d have to know this area to want to cut off onto that street and go down through there because it’s a church down that dead end, no traffic be down there,” Brown said.

Super avoidable, pick a public spot. If they aren't willing to work with you at all on a meet up spot, they had other plans all along.

About 10 years ago, someone attempted to rob and carjack a friend of mine at the Chevron station at Monterrey and Greenwell Springs when he showed up to buy a Playstation. Guy even had his kid in the truck. He shot back and the seller quickly sped off.

Are we supposed to be surprised by this?

This.
The best place is a police station parking lot. If they say no, you just avoided getting shot and burned.
Or robbed. Either way, win.

Isn't that what happened with Clyde E-H while he was still at LSU, except they killed the dude trying to rob them I believe? And I think he and his buddy were also buying or selling a Playstation.

Used to be a nice part of town.

Do it at a police station. They actually suggest that in BR

I don't buy from young African American males, so it couldn't be me.
And they have already arrested the twins that committed this crime.

I do.
I find that I get a lot of inquiries, I reply, and then complete silence. But since it is free, I guess this comes with the territory.
I always meet in public places. I like the parking lot of a bank. I have my CCL, and while I hope to never be put in a situation that would cause me to react, I feel confident that I would, especially if my life is in immediate danger.

Whenever you buy/sell something online and need to meet them, ask if you can meet in a public place like a Walmart parking lot or something like that. Never let them come to your house.
If it’s something that can be moved easily, never go alone.

I have a friend who buys vintage junk cars (for parts) off FB. When he goes to a meet, he comes armed and has two junkyard dogs with him. He also has a co-worker who surveys the meet from a safe distance (with a rifle).
Two of the first four times he started buying parts cars, he was robbed. It has never since he changed his practice.
