I’m Gen X so allow me to offer a middle ground.

The security question is valid. It’s one more company in the “information chain” with your financial information, even if it is “tokenized”. I would argue tokenization actually makes your financial information more secure, but the point is valid to a degre.

And yes, it’s pretty simple to swipe/tap a card, but squeezing my watch twice, holding it close to the terminal and walking out the door with my stuff makes me feel like Dick Tracy. Which should appeal to Boomers.

I use Apple Pay whenever I can. Problem is that not enough merchants accept it, even today.

Pretty much everywhere takes it nowadays. I barely ever pull my card out anymore unless I’m going to the ATM.

I've accidentally paid for things with Google Pay a few times because I was reading TD or something and held my phone too close the reader

Kroger, Publix, Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart and Target don’t seem to have it (maybe it’s by location)?

Pretty much every gas station I’ve been to has it but I rarely go to gas stations :/

sometimes. I'd rather tap a card than use a phone but at times there are discounts for using them.

frick any store that doesn’t accept tap to pay.

Home Depot and Lowe’s, I’m looking at you.

ETA. Apple Pay/Google Pay is wayyy more secure than using a physical credit card.

I tried to use it at Rouse's a couple years ago but their machines weren't smart enough to figure it out. I spent more time doing that than actually checking out my groceries.

In store - not that often... too many years of muscle memory of pulling out a card I guess

Online - more frequent. I like the extra layer of security.

Apple Pay. It’s more secure than using the card itself

They are prob less likely to have an I phone.

Like millennials are less likely to have a desktop compared to gen x.

I have no experience using either app on my phone. I have a rule about my phone. That rule is that my phone and my bank account/credit card are NEVER linked in any shape, fashion, or form.

Yes, I use Apple Pay for most things now - it was especially helpful when we were in Italy last year.

Dude, this is the OT. All our cards are metal.

And... Apple Pay is awesome.
