Whatever you do, trust the Chinese government. They are very transparent in reporting everything related to the Coronavirus. They're not expelling foreign journalists or anything like that. They're not arresting their own people who whistleblow. They're not deploying online trolls to suppress information on the Coronavirus. They're also sharing all of the data and are letting other medical professionals and scientists assist in the response. 
It was reported that the first known Coronavirus patient had no link to the Wuhan Seafood Market. LINK
The best the U.S. Deputy Health Secretary can say is that the origin of the virus is unclear. We do know, however, that China's only Level 4 biolaboratory is only a few miles away from the Seafood market. LINK
It's reported that Xi Jinping said that biosafety should be treated as a national security issue on February 14th. That led to new safety regulations within laboratories that study viruses. LINK
For some reason China has yet to release animal sampling testing data for the rest of the world to examine. Their lack of candor makes it difficult to believe anything they say. Can you say 'cover up'? LINK

I think its more of a wake up call on basic sanitation in China. Many Chinese don't practice basic sanitation like washing hands (many restaurants don't carry soap in bathrooms) and not spitting everywhere.
They still have not really identified the source as some of the initial cases had no connection to the market. They could have gotten it from the market, but its not an open and shut case that they did.

Seems like more of a food preparation/hygiene issue than the type of food consumed.
