I quit listening to W&J years ago when aaaaaallllllll they talked about was Obama, and I personally believe Obama was the worst potus in history, but it just became nauseating and funny anymore.

I'm under 50. I started listening to W&J in about 1993.

Haven't listened since they moved to Houston. I have turned it on a handful of times in the past few years but never lasted long. It really is just the same crap on repeat. Their prime was in the 90's (B97, WRNO). Plus shows like that can't compete with uncensored satellite these days.

Kenny sounded way too much like Kermit the frog, but I hung in there and gave him a chance and he has gotten much better. They are still the best show on radio during the week. John Clay Wolf has ruled my Saturday mornings for the last few years.

Kenny’s voice sucks and makes it unlistenable.

And I will say, Kenny has gotten better
agreed. I was a huge critic of his when he took over. But he's done a good job adapting and they changed his tone so the Midwest accent isn't so screechy.
I still don't care for his skits that seem to be such desperate attempts to mirror Southpark.

Yes I do. It’s just not the same. I don’t hate Kenny but he is half the talent that Walton was. He is much more of the troll mentality and everything is political. His sense of humor is more juvenile and less funny in general
Sadly they are fake news a lot of the time which is Kenny’s fault. And I don’t mean joking/blatantly not fact checking (which used to be part o the shows charm), I mean using misleading headlines and characterization of real events.
Having said that I don’t see myself not tuning in on a regular basis, but they could do a lot better than Kenny.

I change between NPR (89.9), MPB (90.3), W&J (99.5), and Tommy Tucker (105.3)...depending on how annoyed I am at each.

I think Kenny has been doing a great job. He's got a good voice for it. And like others have said, it's getting better and better. I think the biggest issue is timing and report. Kenny gets excitable and walks on Steve, but you can't expect them to be as synced up as a 4 decade duo.

I listen every morning. Kenny is not as good as Walton, but he has really improved a lot. When he first took over I almost stopped listening, but he and Steve work pretty well together I think.

I miss John Walton. When I hear producer Kenny I see Kermit the frog.
Posted on 2/27/20 at 4:40 pm to bdavids09
Yes but not as much. I like Kenny, but he’s no John.
33. Been listening since the 90s.

At first I thought Kenny was horrible both his voice and commentary. As others have said, he's gotten a lot better in a short amount of time as to both issues.

No I listen to Kidd Kraddick in the morning

Kenny is really smart and has a great sense of humor. I'm surprised at how quickly he and Steve built up their chemistry. Plus, Kenny went from sounding fairly uncomfortable and just unready to relatively seasoned and polished in just a couple of months.
He's still not the force that Walton was, but he was of a (literally) dying breed frankly, likely to never be replaced - cats who were on the radio in the 1970s and 1980s are vanishing rapidly.
I'm probably listening as much now as at any point in the past 5 or 6 years.

Who still listens to Kidd Kraddick in the morning even though he died 7 years ago, that would be a more appropriate question?

There won’t be another Walton but I understand what John saw in Kenny. He’s very intelligent and pretty damn funny. I’ve been listening more.
