And that's not even considering my disdain for small engines.

Idk how big your yard is but I’m around 0.3 acre. Going electric has been a game changer.

No gas. No stabilizer. No gunked up engines after a year because I forgot to put in stabilizer. No oil. Just yard work.

I have Ryobi 40v batteries for a push mower, blower, weed eater, and small saw. I’ll never buy gas powered lawn equipment again unless I end up building a house on a larger piece of property and need a riding mower.

Mow my own gaaaht damn grass, every week, 2 acres, w/a 22yo JD LT 160 mower, edge driveway, back patio, sidewalk, both sides of street, and blow off it all when finished…

I take care of my domain. It takes every bit of pride in me to call a contractor to do anything at my home. 90% of them are worthless and create more problems than you hire them to do.

I do admit to paying my nephew to cut the grass this past summer. He was starting a grass cutting business and I wanted to support him. Summers in LA are brutal. I waved to him from the pool when he was done.

I'm amazed at the number of my neighbors that pay to have their yard mowed.

I'm not picky about how it looks after. I mow it myself.
I'm a cheap mofo.

I went to all fake grass about 5 years ago. I love it. Looks perfect and I never needed a lawn mower again.

Move to an apartment or a place with no yard.

I enjoy cutting the grass but I have a zero turn.

I have always cut my own yard. I enjoy it, pop on my noise cancelling headphones and just take my own sweet time on my zero turn. Now weed eating I freaking hate. Only do it a couple times a year. The rest of the time its weed killer or diesel sprayed in my ditches.

I have a side job in lawn care. I have 18 yards and turn down work all the time. Plenty people don't cut their own grass.

Me. I need the exercise.
I've been doing it forever. All my landscaping, too, but I'm about to start remodeling the interior now that I'm retired, and proper care of the yard takes a lot of effort and TIME. I need to hire a crew

Yes. I like it. I live out in freakin country and have about 2-3 acres around the house / shop / barn I have to cut. But, it's not all putting green grass. Much of it is under trees and sparsley grows so I only cut most of it about every 3 weeks during the summer. Do cut my back yard ever other week.

I do use the zero turn to cut the trails around my fields and some of the wooded ones. Bushhog for the rest.

And I use this beast, Ariens Apex 60:

I haven’t cut my own grass in the last 3 houses that I’ve owned. Not worth my time.
