I blame social media. Think of the likes these healthcare heroes are getting.

Yes. And she’s a podiatrist

A guy I went to med school with constantly posts photos of himself all geared up in PPE, with Facebook comments about how he’s so brave, a hero, etc. He’s a plastic surgeon

Someone put a sign like this in my yard a month ago. I threw it away.

It was a nice thought, but the only hospital workers who were "heroes" during this were nurses working 10+ hours at a time in full bubble suits on isolation units. Everyone else's job got easier if anything.

If you're going to post pics, they should be of nurses.

Healthcare worker here directly involved with Covid-19 patients on a daily basis. My boss drove across 3 parishes to place signs in her employees yards to thank us for all that we have done during this nonsense. I'm not gonna be a arse and remove the sign, nor do I believe MAJORITY of healthcare workers are looking for gratification. Just trying to do the best we can with what we. I learned a long time ago, opinions are like arseholes... Everyone's got one.

I'll never understand why people need to be acknowledged just for doing their job.

We’ve got a nurse with a sign in her yard that’s been there about 3 weeks. She works for a plastic surgeon and has been off work for most of this.
I keep feeling like I need to go thank her for her service.

My wife (no pics) told me she read some comments from an article where people are suggesting that frontline works who have died during the covid should also be remembered on Memorial Day.
