I like being in a deer stand alone with nature, even if I don't see a deer I feel relaxed AF when I leave.

Then I get home and all hell breaks loose

Same here.

Have had roommates in the past that always had to have music or a tv going. John Candy was a popular figure that was like that. Perhaps Howard Hughes the opposite.

Your mind is a dangerous place. You should never go there alone.

This is why I enjoy deer hunting. Alone as long as I want to be.... Turn off cell phone and just chill.
Favorite time at the camp is when nobody else is there sit by the fire with a cigar and a whiskey.
let the mind go wherever it wants....

Cannot stand it. Way too much to worry about between bills and work and family and chores and everything in life. Can fall asleep to an episode of Seinfeld with no problem, but in my thoughts alone I will be up for days. Amazing to me how easily everyone else sleeps so well for more than 4-5 hours per night. Waste of my time and my mind starts racing about what I need to get done to be successful for the day.

TD is actually a very welcomed and necessary distraction.

I like being alone, I don't know how someone can be around people ALL THE TIME. Don't get me wrong, there are times when I enjoy being around others, but I have to have alone time.

Not to mention, it's hard to get shite down when people are around.

don't like humans. Outside of work, I'm alone prob 90% of the time. Moved around a lot for work and don't really have any friends. Doesn't bother me.

I'm the same way. Have a few good friends, but mainly stay to myself. I love it.

Hang in there. I'm 60, retired and I live that rat race every day. My best morning and day starts are when I wake up around 5am "most of the time before", I fix a pot of coffee and drink a couple cups on my patio. It helps me chill for the day. I do say my morning prays even before I start to relax.

If I didn't do that, my only grandson wouldn't have this paw paw. I had more of life that anymore disappointments I don't think I could handle. Yes, I had way more then enough.

We’re afraid of our own thoughts because we’ve created an environment where you’re met with stimulation at every corner. Just watch people on public transit and notice how they nervously check their phones. In the past, we were more familiar with being bored, so it didn’t bother us as much. A good antidote to this problem is exposure. Meditation forces you to sit with yourself without judging. It helps you recentrer yourself and find comfort in your humanity.

Absolutely but I’m a super introvert. I often find myself driving without the radio on and not even realizing it until I’m well into my drive.

I wake up earlier every morning so that I have an hour of quiet time before I leave for work. I get up and get ready and then have my "quiet time". Sometimes I goof off on TD for an hour. Or catch up on a show on my DVR real quick. Or read my Bible and daily devotion and pray. It really helps to start my day off on the right foot to have that me time every morning.

Absolutely. People find it odd when I tell them how I recently drove from Mobile to Atlanta and never made a call, received a call or turned on the radio. It was a great day.

This is me, I’ll be driving and realize after a while I don’t have the radio on and haven’t been on the phone. I find it quite peaceful I enjoy being disconnected. I also have 2 lil ones so I imagine that plays a big part in it also lol.

Absolutely. It's one of the main reasons I hunt. Being in the stand all day or on a stalk completely alone with nothing but me and God's creation to look at.

Yep. One of my pleasures is hiking out to a secluded beach and watching the sea roll in, and think about stuff.
