Good for you, dude. That's a nice area. I love it over there.

Thanks, good luck on the hunt. I'm sure y'all will find a nice spot if you're flexible. Seems like a lot of options west from here to Denver, Arizona, etc.

If you only want to live in an $400k house, NOLA may not be for you. I'm sure that is why threads like this get started. People can't afford living in this great city and are pissed off about it

I left NOLA years ago after being held up at gunpoint twice in front of my house in mid city during the day. No way I'm putting my kids in danger in that shithole.

I have 3 friends that are getting out this year.

I love you, NOLA (my hometown) but frick your peeps.

The ONLY thing this state has to offer is New Orleans

This state offers world class saltwater fishing. As a life long resident of LA, NOLA is actually one of the negatives of this state IMO. "Culture" is overrated. I've enjoyed pretty much every major city I've ever been too more than NOLA and I live 45 minutes from it.

Wow, you enjoyed going somewhere new compared to somewhere you have easy access to and are used to? What a crazy concept.

So does Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, and South Carolina..dont act like thats all this state has to offer.

12 million people visit New Orleans every year.....there arent 12 million people coming to La to catch redfish and trout.

I don't go to NOLA unless I have too. It's a straight up shite hole. But I'm an outside in nature type of person. I like to hunt and fish and all that goes with that. I don't enjoy festivals and bar hopping. I can understand why someone who grew up there would enjoy it but for my interest NOLA does nothing for me.

Those states aren't on LA's level when it comes to inshore fishing. And of course more people visit NOLA as it isn't a specified thing like fishing.

Good for them. IDGAF what people do on their vacations. The only thing I took exception to was one poster trying to say that NOLA was the only thing the State had to offer and that's utter BS.

It's equally BS to say NOLA is a negative to the state is is nothing but a shithole.

And many million people agree with him

There are alot of people that dislike Nola and it has nothing to do with jealousy or butthurt. I think Nola gets a worse name on this board because people get snobby when they defend it.

He admitted in his post he is an outdoors and nature guy, but he understands how others like Nola.

And you had to give a snobby response to him......

That NOLA is nothing but a shithole? You have a source on that?

He said NOLA is a negative to the state. That's just silly, even with the city's issues.

I didnt grow up here and I I enjoy all the things you enjoy as well as all the things nola has to offer.

Just because you dont enjoy something doesnt mean it's not attractive for other people.

But you sound like a typical uneducated redneck who thinks the only street in New Orleans is Bourbon Street and the only tall building is the Superdome
