All of them. But there will only be 25 homes in my hood when it is totally built out. As of now we have 14 homes. I grew up in a small town so knowing all of my neighbors seems kind of natural.

Never spoken to any of them but I do intercept their mail and go through their trash regularly, so in a way I know them much better than most people know their neighbors.

One of my best friends is about to be my neighbor in about a week.

I like to be left alone and mind my business so I feel like my neighbor would appreciate the same courtesy. I mean we talk on occasion and I would let him know if I saw something out of order around his place, but I don't go have a conversation every time I see him outside.

I know everyone on my cul de sac really well bbq a couple of times a year and what not as well as a few others on the street, and a couple of other folks in the neighborhood.

I’ve been in Slidell for 15 years now. Still don’t know half my neighbors. The overwhelming majority of the “nice” neighbors all happen to be from St. Bernard originally. And it’s not like, “Oh, you’re from St. Bernard too, let’s be friends” - it’s more like they went out of their way to be friendly then you found out after the fact that they were also from St. Bernard.

We know most of our neighbors....heck we have block party every summer...city blocks the street, the fire department will send a truck for the kids to check out and a policeman will come and walk and talk, while we drink, grill, games etc...

I know all of my immediate neighbors. Some places are more social than others though.

To me, that is subdivision living. I would say that the percentage of unknown neighbors is higher in Western St. Tammany. There are very few old school neighborhoods. Typically, you may know your immediate neighbors and the parents of your kids friends. People are busy with work and raising narcissists. Throw in the transient nature of housing as they relate to job mobility and this is the new normal. As stated above, it is what it is.

I moved into my current home two years ago and I became really good friends with one neighbor but I've said very few words to my other ones.

Lived in one home for 8 years or so and barely knew any of them. We were on a short dead-end street. No kids my kids age nearby.
Moved to a home with a common area behind the house and I know more people now in a few years than I ever did before. It was a real eye opener and quality of life improvement. It's nice to be able to watch my kids play outside with other kids from my backyard and even better that they can all see each other and know when to go outside to join in any fun.

I exaggerate my wave to everyone in my neighborhood, so they're sure to know my presence.

I know several of them. My street is mostly duplexes and 4-plexes built in the 1920's so there are a lot of renters. But several people own and live in their buildings like I do and I know those people.

Considering one side of neighbors are my parents and the other side is my aunt and uncle, I am aquatinted with them. Family land is awesome.
