do you hide a LOT of cash stashed in your house?

Oddly this is something I have considered doing but we have a maid so I dont know if it is safe having that kind of cash around.

We have a few thousand in cash at home. Not a lot. I can’t think of any scenarios where I’d legit need tens of thousands in cash with no access.

I have a friend that keeps a lot of cash in her house, a lot, her company makes a lot, she gets a lot of cash, loves to gamble, it's crazy how much she keeps in there, every time we go gambling she'll say "go get some money from the box" how much? "oh, 20(grand) should be enough"

Why so much? If I’m in a situation where I can’t get cash regularly, getting cash is probably the least of my worries. There is no situation in which I would need cash stashed somewhere in the house.
