No, but my grandfather did... We found thousands stashed away in ammo cans in his attic after he passed...

Good question. It’s not super intentional. We started stashing the random cash we had, and it stuck. If it gets above a few K, he’ll deposit it into savings. We use it for random house projects, weekend trips, etc.
