No, not as long as they don’t mind me taking off my mask and firing up a Marlboro Red mid flight without losing their minds.

I’m flying next week and don’t give a damn about anything except that they won’t be serving alcohol

FWIW people are flying in increasing numbers. Yesterday was the highest passenger total from TSA in awhile. Up to 20% of pre-Covid levels from a year ago on the previous weekday. Fridays followed by Thursdays and Mondays are generally the busiest travel days with Saturdays being the slowest.

Coronavirus gives me no pause, it's the stupid human tricks we're forced to perform and the astronomical prices we pay to do so. 'member when they said TSA was only temporary after 9/11?

I’m not worried about flying but I don’t have a strong desire to take a trip until things are more normal

Yes, but I'm 61 and have health issues. I wouldn't have hesitated before I was diagnosed with full blown systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) at 34. Since then, I've had some limitations on what I can do. All organs are currently in working condition and I want to keep it that way.

I would attend an orgy with 65 year olds this weekend. I don’t care about getting the virus and I’m super careful around the few at risk people I know

The risk on an airplane is probably lower than in a bar or restaurant these days or any confined space. They have HEPA air filters and everyone is required to wear a mask. Plus many airlines are doing no middle seat.

3 of you brought up some “they can stay their arse at home” straw man argument against me.
If low risk people are traveling around like normal, then need to make sure they aren’t putting their older friends/family at risk. That’s all I’m saying. A little personal responsibility by all parties is all we really needed instead of shut downs.

No, they didn’t care once we got to our seats. They hand you a water bottle upon boarding, and you can’t really drink it with a mask on so they basically hand you an excuse to take your mask off.

It's arguably safer to fly right now more than ever. Now if you're flying with kids, that's a different issue.

I’m not afraid of Covid.
I’m not flying because:
1. Most places I’d want to fly to are mostly shut down due to the Covid regulations. If I can’t see the sites, eat at the trendy restaurants, and check out the local bars and breweries, why even travel?
2. A lot of places either have suspended air service or require one to quarantine for a period of time.
3. Wearing a mask on a plane for hours and hours at a time sounds miserable. All of the pointless security theater at airports is already bad enough without the covid insanity added on top.
4. I’m afraid to spend too much money on travel right now in case my job decides to lay me off.

Nope. Flew last week. Mask to board then took it off immediately.
