I agree about the driving. I constantly look at the tires of the cars coming at me from the opposite direction on a 2 lane street. People constantly cross the line. I lay on the horn if I see them start to even slightly drift over and don’t stop until we pass each other. I’m not getting killed by a head on collision because some jackass has to look at their phone constantly while driving.
My horn is getting a workout.

I don't like how cash isn't accepted in more and more purchases.
9/11 really did a number on the use of cash as payment. Many banks ask for ID when dealing with cash, whether depositing or withdrawing. . .even when it's below $10K.
Cashed in a CD prior to maturity to pay for a large purchase. . . took an hour. . . for my own money. Thanks Cap 1.

That and the backup camera are the best things
I despise backup cameras in other peoples cars only because 90% of the people who have them don’t look around before backing, and don’t look behind them while backing. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve seen someone back out in front of someone else without ever looking away from the camera.
Happened to me in my neighborhood. Some Ahole was baking out and I watched him go all the way down his driveway then into the street without ever taking his eyes off the camera. I stopped and honked and he got mad at me like I was the a-hole.

Cloud based services.
I hate it, I fricking hate everything on “the cloud”. They framed saving your information/data/account on their physical storage which they have complete control over and access too as far superior to saving it and owning it yourself.
Video games? You don’t own them, they are on the cloud
Documents? Save to one drive to where if the internet is out you can’t access them
The cloud pisses me off.

Everything to control the radio and HVAC is on a damn touch screen on newer vehicles.
I want knobs.

would you like to create an account?
would you like to sign up for our credit card?
would you like to donate $ to the kids in Africa?
would you like to donate to handicapped lesbians in Ukraine?
would you like to round up to donate to local SPCA?
should we send the receipt to you via txt, email, etc?
Would you also like us to print your receipt?
I know what the up/down result will be for my comment to follow, nevertheless...
Just one more reason to pay cash!
It burns my biscuits to have some schmuck in front of me buy a candy bar/pack of gum with a debit card. You don't have $2 in your pocket?

Everything is a subscription now and so confusing. Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV, youtubetv, paramount. And there’s subscriptions on top of subscriptions.
I don't subscribe to any of that shite. I use my iphone as a hotspot for all of my internet so I only pay once, I pay a monthly subscription for the paper, and I use an antenna on my TV.
frick the subscription chiselers.

roll down the window
I actually had a teenager ask me not long ago why I used this expression, and I had to take time to explain to him that at one time, you actually had to "roll" a device on the door to make the window go down, instead of pushing a button.
Then it hit me that I could be one of those old people in the Progressive commercials

My husband put in Lutron lights everywhere in house and then hooked them up to Control4 and run all these programs to turn lights off/on at different times. Whelp. Buried in one of these programs is the command to turn all the upstairs lights on at 3 am and he can’t figure out how to undo it. So now we have an AV guy at the house charging an hourly rate to turn a light switch off.
It is also programmed to turn whole house off when HIS phone leaves the house, regardless if anyone still in the home .. having AV guy fix this too.
This is all to say that my husband embraces every new tech regardless of necessity and everyone else has to pay the price.

Every time I try to log in to Verizon, it takes me on an existential journey of vicious circles culminating in me saying f it and just living with my broken-assed phones for another several months.
I also can’t stand the expectation of being constantly and immediately responsive to communications. While my job is overall better and more flexible with modern info tech, I miss the days where people had to wait for a mailed letter or for me to be in the office and not busy, to return a call. I’ve had to create the best of both worlds by simply making people wait (and not constantly checking email etc).

Paying to stream music is for suckers.
There is no "cloud". It's just someone else's (much larger) computer hardware.

I very slightly went across the center line giving a buffer to a pedestrian while doing approx. 35 mph and some old bag honked and gestured wildly at me like I was a drunk maniac.

Do you have any grumpy opinions about modern life?
It's worse over in political. Trumps pics are younger than boomer so us boomers are supposed to be pissed off. That sort of thing.
I was happy as hell that Trump is picking younger people this time around. People that can be the now and the future. I didn't know I was supposed to be pissed until they pointed this out and took credit for all that is good.
DAM, dam, dam, now me and all my boomer buddies are pissed. Get off my lawn.

I just want to turn on a game and start playing. Today's video games involve so much. Then there is all kind of shite to buy within the games. Some games you have to buy then purchase some type of package to be able to play everything on the game. You give a kid a gift card now and they are using it to buy some bullshite in a game that doesn't help you do anything, they just like the way it looks.
Its pretty insane.

Over-reliance on cell phones has created a discourteous, obnoxious society.
Social media is more harmful than helpful.
Any job that entails dealing with the general public is an awful job. "Open to the public" stores need to be largely eliminated. Have membership stores that keep the rabble out.
Most drivers are shitty drivers.
