FACT.

Had two rentals and only have one now. I have a relative in it for next to nothing in rent. However, they take care of the place for me and my out of pocket has been next to nothing.

Yes. I do some small consulting on the side. I make $6k-$10k every year; which just goes into a SOLO 401k now.

I wanted a specific rack for my wife’s 4Runner. Nobody made it so I designed it. I posted a pic on a forum and lots of folks wanted to purchase one. I started selling them.

I’m just getting started but it’s looking pretty good.

Nice product but your website looks like crap on an iPhone. Front page has lots of empty space.

Have you put your product on Amazon?

Not yet. I’m starting small and don’t want to get slammed. I get about a 1% purchase rate per website views so it’s a desirable product and beat anything else out there on price. You get 95% of the utility of an aftermarket rack at a fraction of the cost.

I’m already getting requests to design for other vehicles also.

I need someone to optimize my site and make it look better. Thanks for the feedback.

At this point, it’s a one man show. For most folks when you order something they produce it and you get it a month later. I ship within a few hours and folks get their stuff in a few days.

I’m afraid I won’t be able to keep up once this gets rolling and starting slow is the way to go.

I’ve heard pressure washing is a good side job and almost considered doing it at one time

I think this is awesome. I've had similar ideas for new products, but I'm just too conservative to take a chance. Maybe some day. Congrats.

That's something I will never do and be happy to pay someone else to do.

Man that's a pretty nice setup and pretty cheap compared to what all the other racks run you. Honestly you probably could sell it as a full setup with about a 20% markup on the crossbars and people would buy them.

ETA: Just looked up the site for the crossbars, did I do it correct, ~$20 each? Man that seems like a steal.

True, would be rough during the summer months. My biggest worry though would be screwing up and damaging someone’s house. Or getting blamed for damage that maybe I didn’t do

That's great... I'll have to remember this for my 4Runner whenever I need a rack.

That’s why you soft wash a house. Leave the pressure washing to the concrete driveways, patios, and sidewalks

If I did I wouldn’t say it here. Cash money the government doesn’t know about would stay that way.

Makes sense, I obviously don’t know much about pressure washing, as far as different chemicals and such. I just pay someone about every 4-5 years to come do my house. Honestly it stays looking good for about 3 years for sure and that 4th year you can tell it’s time to do it again.

You did it correct.

It really is the best deal going. I tried to see what it would cost to order the crossbars in bulk and do it that way but with shipping the math doesn't work it. It's cheaper to buy from them. I have enough profit margin in my stuff to make it worth my while and my "touch time" on each order is low. It took me a year to get my ducks in a row to get my cost low enough to make sufficient profit.

Also, every single one of my components are made in the U.S.

Paid Russian troll. It is difficult finding banks to do business with me tho cause they don't like converting the Russian Ruble into dollars.
