Do you have a friend that never says ‘thank you?’

We had a friend in from out of town to visit. She is a very good friend of my wife and I am, of course, a good friend of hers also.
She’s a retired therapist. Has a great personality. Laughs easily and a delight to be around. That being said we’ve taken her out a couple of times to eat and pick up her tab and she never says thank you or anything!
She picked up my wife’s lunch the other day and of course my wife thanked her very much for getting her lunch. But she never thanks us for anything.
She has asked me to grab a few small items from the store for her but she never says thank you and doesn’t even offer to pay for what I picked up for her from the store. Not that I would let her pay but don’t you at least offer?
Some people are so fricking odd.

This is a strange phenomenon where people are uncomfortable saying thank you. I've seen it before and it's puzzling. Since most of us who grow up in the South especially have no issue with a simple thank you.
I've also seen people who can't accept compliments and giving them a gift makes them uncomfortable

Over the course of the relationship has she paid significantly more for joint activities that yall all benefit from?

Yes.even worse, the friend I speak of is kind of a half arse sad sack about doing things correctly and when he fricks something up like breaking a tool he’s borrowed or something you are lucky to get a quick “ sorry bruh” out of him.

Some people have parents who never taught them good manners.

Yes, and fat people travel in groups. Notice how the entire post was about going out to eat several times.
They're all probably fat as hell.

Sounds like a typical yankee.

Don't think so but got neighbors in my cul-de-sac from Virginia that never wave back when we drive in and they are in their front yard. We talk ever so often and are on good terms.

My husband would always pick up the tab when eating out. If it was always someone different, I would have figured next time they might offer, But it was the same folks over and over. Sitting on their hands when the check came.
Oh, he might get an offhand "thanks" but reciprocation would have been nice sometimes.
