Do you have a childhood role model?
Posted by Travis Scott on 2/5/21 at 9:39 am310
My role model was a guy named Calvin Ricks. He was very wealthy and he would ride around on a gold Suzuki motorcycle. His clothes were always freshly starched and he was constantly surrounded by beautiful women. If you ever saw a picture of him, you can bet it features a stack of money.

Saw him charge the mound when I was around 10 or 11 and I thought he was the coolest guy ever.

Grandfather, without question
I’ll never forget the day he bequeathed his library to me. Ohh, I could get lost in the nonfiction section with a cup of hot tea and a non dairy organic fat free all natural grain free non gmo apple tart.

Dale Murphy is the only celebrity role model I’ve ever had. Still a classy guy and a great ambassador to the game of baseball.

Frickin' loved Gravedigger. I got his autograph as a kid, and then 100 years later, I took my kids to see a show, and they got his autograph. My company had box seats at the GA Dome, so every year we would go and it was so much fun.
Then, Atlanta started getting the B, C, or D traveling squads, and it wasn't the big names it was ... Jose Alvarez in GRAAAAVEDIGGER. It wasn't the same, ever. Nobody has the balls that the top flight crew does.
