I find it depends on the brand they subscribe to and just how staunch we're talking.

I've met a bunch of Catholics who you wouldn't move an inch on their belief, but are pretty ok with criticisms of the church, and even have some of their own. My MIL is a great example.

The snake handlers and other more goofy sects of Christianity are hardly better than Muslims in terms of their angry need to convince you that they're right.

What is religious?

Where did morals come from? Wasn’t from men.

If there is a creator, can we know?

This should be the dumbest thing I read today. We'll see.

I find it harder to reason with relativists. At least religious people have firm grounding in something and believe there's a "right" to discover/reason through.

People who throw up their hands and say, "gee, no one can really know what's true" are the worst type. They are also spineless.

Cheers.

You think that's bad? Try to reason with someone who thinks a man can have a period or a child.

In your mind these people are everywhere. In reality, you've never met one.

Some people believe the Bible is 100% accurate, yet they question documented history simply because it isn’t mentioned in the Bible. It’s hard to reason with people like that.
I literally don’t think I’ve ever met anyone like this.

Mainstream religions are just socially sanctioned cults. Religious people don’t reason their way into their beliefs. They are conditioned into them from birth. This is coming from someone who grew up in a strict southern Baptist household.

I grew up church of Christ and didn’t like the non-denominational vibes at all. My ex is Anglican and got exposed to it and later made the decision to switch to join the Episcopal church near me—-Anglican-Episcopal

To an extent, I envy them. I have rarely, if ever been given an existential answer I am happy with. I feel like believing something like that without question would make life so much easier.
