I feel like shirtless outdoor peeing was probably much more prevalent before electricity but I recognize a bit of waxing nostalgic

That reminds me of a conversation I had with my 93 year old Mother in Law a couple years before she passed.
She was complaining about her situation.
I said Annie, you are living at a higher standard of living than Kings, 100 yrs ago.
Kings had no indoor plumbing, no air conditioning, no TV

My wife and I were talking about this recently on an anniversary trip. We were staying in an old bed and breakfast. The place no doubt had a servant staff at one time. It would be nice to have a cook that could fix you anything you want. However I got on grubhub and ordered food that was delivered to us in our bed and breakfast because we didn’t want to leave the place. Because of technology I was able to have the meal of my choice delivered for the price I would have tipped a waiter had we went out. This is available to us despite being in the middle class. This is the kind of crap we take for granted and never really even think about it.

My 5th Great Grandfather was Captain Benjamin Merrill. He was ordered hanged by the governor in 1771 after the Battle of Alamance. He left this earth, leaving a widow and 10 children at the age of 40.
My Grandfather received a Purple Heart for the Meuse-Argonne Offensive.
I served during the Persian Gulf War.
At this point I feel just still being here is a blessing.
