my job is a lot more blue collar than I was expecting. Like swinging a sledgehammer for hours on end. But the pay is good and Im off 6 months a year. Take the good with the bad. A few more years and I'm out.

My boss is a micro-manager that does not do well at all with all of his employees working remotely. For the past couple of years I have been miserable….first time in my life I have literally hated work.
Interesting…. That seems counterintuitive.. i would think a micromanager would be easier to deal with if they arent physically there peeking over your shoulder.. at least, that’s been the experience at my company throughout the Great Pandemic.

Earned a BS then an MBA while raising 5 kids. I am now a VP of sales making more money than my mother, who was a teacher, that raised 3 kids on her own would earn in a decade. I just finished dinner at a fantastic steakhouse in Ohio with the president of the company I joined and am sitting in my suite waiting for the LSU game. I liked my previous job, but I’m loving this new venture. Go grab that brass ring.
Good story! Cogratulations.

Those of you that are miserable or hate your current company/boss, what is keeping you at your current miserable job? You should have no problem finding another job with companies throwing the kitchen sink to hire employees.

Pros: The money is great.
Cons: Long Hours, basically on call 24/7.
Wouldn't say I enjoy it, but the money will let me retire early.

I'm in tax consulting and was starting to get burnt out on it. Some stuff I still like, but other stuff I absolutely dreaded.
I just got an opportunity to go start the practice for my niche at a smaller mid size firm (about 3000 us employees) so I'm excited about that. It'll be just as much about sales as technical knowledge. I'm ready to go again.

I’ve got a great job with great coworkers/management. Can’t say I enjoy it though. I’m very lucky to be where I’m at but it’s still work.

No. If anyone would like details, just ask.

I really enjoy my job and make really good money for my age, but I wish I could win the lottery and never have to work another day of my life.
I felt like retiring before I even started my career

I used to, there was always a new challenge and I always felt like I was achieving something. Then I took a job in the same field in a different business segment and 90% of the time it feels like I'm just collecting a paycheck, spinning my wheel like a good hamster. Ah well.

You definitely smile with your mouth wide open.

I like my industry and want to stay in it, but I hate my job. I feel as though I have no purpose. I wake up each day dreading having to go into the office because all I end up doing all day is resolving issues that my coworkers created. It's miserable.
I have my reasons for staying for the time being, but I plan on jumping ship within the next 18 months while the job market is still wild.

I’ve been a nurse for 20 years and have tried different jobs. They all suck. All hospitals and medical businesses have become corporate/Lean and work their employees into the ground. The only things that make it tolerable is the schedule or working contracts for much more money.

I like my job. I think my coworkers play a huge role in how pleasant my day is.

It really cuts into my tv watching and goofing off time.
