Do you eat off of paper plates at your house each day?

For cooked meals, regular plates. A slice of cake or a snack/fruit for kids, paper plate.

I mean I have kids too. Taught them how to cook, then clean up as they go so basically everything they cooked with is clean by the time they’re done and ready to eat.
I guess they’ll never learn how to not start shitty threads.

We have paper plates. Only 3 of us in the house so rarely do I need to use a paper plate. Sometimes I do when there are plenty of ceramic plates and I can't explain why. Many times it's at lunch (work form home) and the dishwasher is full. It's the kiddo's job to empty the dishwasher so I'll make a sandwich or wrap and eat it off a paper plate or napkin instead of putting a dirty dish in the sink. Sometimes I grab one for no good reason other than my state of mind and the meal I'm eating feels like it belongs on a paper plate.

Get two sets of dishes from Sam's. They don't need the big dinner plates for anything but dinner. Breakfast and lunch can go on salad plates for the kids. You can also buy a caterer's box from Pottery Barn that includes 10 dinner plates, 10 salad plates.

We have a family member that works for a paper printing company and they are able to keep some of the "misprints." Twice a year we are able to get a couple thousand paper plates in various sizes for free and they will last about 6 months. Cuts way down on the amount of dishes we have to wash.

Saw in another thread someone talking about just using paper plates, no ceramics which got me thinking how I know people like this. They say it’s easier so they don’t have to wash dishes.
IMO it’s trashy as hell and extremely lazy. Takes all of 2 seconds to wash a plate off, the price you pay I guess for not eating each meal off a damned paper plate.
umm...I have 3 sons all in different sports...frick you and your trashy comment. Between school, sports and other activities I dont have time for that shite. Why would I not just make my life easier and use paper?
we still sit down and eat as a family 4+ times per week and they all eat breakfast together why their mom and me are packing lunches and talking to them.
so frick off

We use plastic utensils too.

I've noticed it's fairly common in older people

To answer your question it all just depends. The kids (7 and 1) use the little plastic compartmentalized plates 90% of the time regardless of what we eat. When I cook a meal I’m rinsing the pots and stuff I used for cooking as I go and put them in the dishwasher to be run when we go to bed that night and the wife and I will use ceramic plates. When we’re just warming up reruns the kids will use their usual plates and we’ll use paper plates. Salads or something like soup or gumbo it’s always ceramic or plastic bowls. When company is over we just play by it ear based on what’s getting served and how many people. When I’m home for lunch it’s always on a paper plate. But I know as the kids get older life is going to get busier, meals will change to quicker prepared dishes, and the Members Mark disposable plates will flow from the pantry like wine.
I ain’t about to knock nobody on what they do to make daily routines easier and work for their house though.

For most of the week, it’s just me at the house. I use foam cups for drinks, paper plates, plastic bowls and plastic utensils all the time.
It saves a ton of dishwasher stuff and using the dishwasher.
I just got tired of using regulates plates and cups and basically sitting them in the dishwasher for several days until i got enough stuff in there to turn the dishwasher on.

I personally can't stand eating off of paper plates unless I'm at a BBQ or something. I just think it's lazy and I happen to like setting a table. To clarify, it's lazy if I, personally, do it.
It takes about 2 seconds to rinse off a plate, and I'm going to be in the kitchen anyway. It's the pots, pans, etc. that are the pain.

We only eat foods in our house that can be prepared in a single pot. Grits and oatmeal at breakfast, soup or stew at lunch, things like spaghetti at dinner. Then we set it on a trivet between us and everybody just eats out of the pot.
All of you people are inefficient.
The ot has gone to absolute shite. It is the equivalent to this recent halftime show.

I’ll use a paper plate to eat a sandwich for lunch or put some cheese on if I’m snacking in the afternoon. But it’s regular plates for everything else.

Only true ballers wash and reuse paper plates and plastic utensils.

Curve ball-we use fine China as a charger, and put a paper plate on top. Best of both worlds!

Lunch, yes. Normally not breakfast or dinner though.
